Illustrator: Katie Daisy

September 27, 2017

I stumbled across Katie Daisy last weekend and thought her illustrations were so colourful and filled with happiness that I had to share with you! Katie grew up in a small town in Illinois and, in her words was "brought up among the other wildflowers with roots planted deeply in the natural world". Inspired by Mother Earth, Katie captures nature's wonders using watercolours and acrylics in vibrant hues, interspersed with inspirational quotes by poets, philosophers and artists.

Her use of floral patterns, birds, landscapes and constellations makes for a romantic and whimsical series, where she hopes to inspire people with the joys of nature and a gentle reminder to keep on dreaming. Her prints are available from Etsy and her book "How to Be a Wildflower: A Field Guide," is Katie's first published book, where she says, "my very heart and soul is translated to paper. It’s a glimpse into my past and present, and the enormous amount of the beauty I have encountered in the natural world".  This book is so on my wishlist - LOVE!!
